My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

Our focus ministry for this weekend is one of our first and most active ministries at Our Lady of Lourdes. The Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Catholic Women is the local affiliation of our Parish of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW).

The bishops of the United States founded the NCCW in 1920 to provide all Catholic women a common voice and an instrument of unified action. The National Council of Catholic Women acts through its members to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and Society in the modern world.

Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Catholic Women provides a forum for Catholic women to speak and act. A highlight for me is their participation in Catholic Days at the Capitol. Especially in these days of social media and virtual participation, to be physically present in Tallahassee and to meet personally with our elected officials make a huge difference.

Meetings are every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm in Bishop Isern Hall, where members gather to share faith and fellowship, and to plan upcoming activities like: School Supplies Drive, Boxes of Joy, Sewing Days, our annual Christmas Bazaar, and of course Catholic Days at Capitol.
