Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time | Bulletin of November 16, 2025 Word from the Pastor

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

I want to congratulate and thank Betty Leal, our Coordinator of Christian Formation, for the remarkable success of our Christian Formation program. It was she who shepherded through our transition to the program we have today that engages the person beginning in the home and walks with them through a catechesis that is lived in parish participation and is integrated with our Youth and Young Adult Ministry. And so, while I am happy that her family is getting the chance to work together, I am sad that she is leaving the parish team.

While I have responsibility for the overall direction of Christian Formation at Our Lady of Lourdes, Fr. Eduardo will now serve as the Director of Religious Education, and we are looking to hire someone to take over Betty’s crucial role. That person will be responsible for the daily execution of our Christian Formation mission statement, the recruitment and direction of our Catechists, and the supervision of our Logistics Coordinator / Assistant to the Coordinator of Christian Formation.

The mission of our Christian Formation Ministry is to prepare a person for full initiation into the Catholic Church and a rich and active life in the Church. When we are working with the youth of our parish we recognize and support the primary role of parents in the formation and education of their children. We are here to help them in that role. When we are working with our adult community that is seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church, we open up for them a relationship with Jesus and His Church and walk with them to an active life of faith.
