Second Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday) | Bulletin of April 12, 2026 Message from Msgr. Schwanger

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

Lent is over and Easter is here! As I mentioned following such a successful and grace-filled celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, I want to invite everyone who has served during these days of celebration to a party in your honor. I want you to have the chance to relax and enjoy the fruit of your labor. The time for the party has arrived! We will celebrate Friday, May 8th, from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Hall.

You should hear from your ministry leaders, but I am inviting everyone who volunteered during the festival, the Healing Mass, and the Geste de l’Eau. These three events make up the whole of our feast day celebrations and your loving service to your parish family during these days was very moving. If you plan to attend, please let the head of your ministry know so that we can be prepared to receive everyone. It is going to be a great night.

This year’s festival was the highest grossing festival ever at Our Lady of Lourdes. The net proceeds rounded out at $184,000! We are already taking advantage of the money that was raised during the festival by upgrading our technology infrastructure around the campus. By the time we are finished we will have new cameras at the Grotto and in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. We will be able to broadcast Mass from the Church to the Chapel, OLOL Hall, Bishop Isern Hall, St. Bernadette Hall, and the Outdoor Altar. We will also be able to show PowerPoint presentations and live stream events and meetings from all of those locations. And we will be able to live stream more than one event at a time. I want our parish ministries to have everything they need to serve the parish family, and the festival is making that possible.
